Not so much a movie guide as an insightful
critical overview of European sex/horror films (there is much overlap
between the two genres), this book is elegantly organized into a
sequence of essays proceeding from general themes (the history of
horrific art, the surgical metaphor), to regional styles (Italian,
German, French, Spanish), to individual directors (Jesus Franco, Jean
Rollin, José Larraz, José Bénazéraf, Walerian Borowczyk, Alain
Robbe-Grillet). The writing is intelligent, engaging, and packed with
fascinating historical and technical details. The book includes plenty
of photos and poster art (including many in color), a useful appendix
covering miscellaneous actors and directors, an index, and a
bibliography.

An extremely rare exploitation item filled with phony stuff of all sorts and
detailing the adventures of two explorers who travel to Cambodia in search
of the hidden city of Angkor. What they find are "ape-men" (or are
they men in ape suits?) after the native women travelling with them. Ferns
and shrubbery are superimposed over the topless natives, which succeeds only
in making the movie even more voyeuristic. With Wilfred Lucas. 80 min.

After studying in America, South Seas Prince Sigore returns home with plans
to change things on his island. He's opposed by the sultan's sister-in-law,
who has plans to control the paradise, and is infatuated with the Forbidden
Women and their sensuous ways. Fernando Poe, Berting La Bra and Mona Lisa
star in this alluring tease classic, made in the Phillippines. The opening
credit, "Re-Edited and Additional Shooting for U.S.A. by Lloyd Freidgen,"
means lots of gratuitous inserts of topless women and exotic dancers.

Andy Milligan's horror tale was reportedly shot in Manasquan, New Jersey,
for $7,500. The story concerns a 19th-century witch who returns from the
dead after the stake is removed from her heart. Lee Forbes and Beth Porter
star. AKA: "The Naked Temptress." Next is a swamp shocker from New
Orleans about Ted, a troubled Vietnam vet who returns from the dead after
being robbed and killed by a trio of thieves. Ted wants revenge and gets
